College and Campus Trivia
A bison and the entire bird collection from the Columbian Exposition of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair could previously be found on the second, third, and fourth floors of this building.
Which building is it?
Answer: The Natural History Building
Some of the birds and the cultural objects from the Natural History Museum moved to the Spurlock Museum in 2002, while about 250,000 specimens went to the Illinois Natural History Survey, where the bison is on exhibit. The mounted animals were given to the Illinois State Museum for non-display purposes.
