Secrets of Spurlock

Although it looks like a toy, what is this Hopi Kachina eagle figure considered to be?

Answer: Kachinas are deified ancestral spirits. These hand-carved dolls are given to girls by masked kachina performers during ceremonies. The dolls are meant to be studied and treasured.
