Prior to entering this industry, Winston spent eight years in the financial services industry with Allstate Reinsurance, The Northern Trust Bank, and GE Capital. He also has experience in the non-profit arena, having served as a director for the National Black MBA Association. During this time, Winston was honored as one of the Top 40 under 40 by diversityMBA Magazine. In addition to his work with Gilead, Winston is also president of 701 Group LLC, which focuses on real-estate management, business development, and transportation services. "To this day, I bleed orange and blue because the people within the College of LAS helped me understand the power of persistence," he wrote in his LAS Alumni Board application. "This mantra of simply refusing to quit has served me well throughout my life. It has shown me that persistence can supersede talent, genetics, and luck, and there can be no success without it!"
