Digital signs

Units throughout the College of LAS manage nearly 40 digital displays that rotate through still images promoting events and other information. Generally, these screens allow campus units and relevant registered student organizations to promote opportunities of interest to LAS students.

Lincoln Hall

The Office of Communications and Marketing posts content to four signs on the first floor of Lincoln Hall. These signs feature information appropriate to LAS students submitted by those within the university. There is no charge to use them.

Your sign's duration may depend on the volume of signs submitted. The Office of Communications and Marketing reviews all slides for appropriateness and has a final say on what slides are running.

Creating your sign

Our digital signs display landscape-oriented images that are 16 inches wide by 9 inches tall (specifically, 1920 by 1080 pixels) and 72 dpi. Please submit your image in these proportions. Signs run for 10 seconds each, so make sure your slide has just one main idea, and keep your slides to 15 words or less. Often, it's helpful to refer those who see it to a website with more information using a QR code.

Digital sign template

If needed, use this template to create your sign (opens as a PowerPoint file). When exporting your file as an image, please set the width to 1920 and the height to 1080. Or, submit the slide as a PowerPoint file.

Submitting your sign

Email your sign to las-news@illinois.edu.
