From karaoke to anime, Asian American culture has contributed significantly to U.S. pop culture. Exploring societal impacts since the 1880s—including how U.S. pop culture has affected Asian Americans—this course and will intrigue pop culture enthusiasts from any background! Consider enrolling in this course next fall.

LAS chemical engineering junior Jacob Becraft is one of two University of Illinois students awarded Barry M. Goldwater scholarships, which recognizes students excelling in science, mathematics, and engineering who intend to pursue careers in those fields.

Student ProfileLAS Student Wins Beinecke Scholarship for Graduate Study

Joanna Chromik, a junior double majoring in communication and English, has been awarded a Beinecke Scholarship of $34,000 for future graduate study in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Chromik hopes to become a professor advancing the study of American and European modernism and critical theory, specifically psychoanalysis and feminism. Chromik also recently appeared in a video for prospective U of I students.
